2013 – what will it mean?

original_new-year-heart

I find it hard to get going at this time of year with the cold, the rain, the dull days and the short amount of daylight.  How I wish sometimes I could hibernate under a duvet and come out only when the first ray of warm spring sunshine hits a tulip.

However that is the beauty of New Years. The clean slate, the new start.  I was going to write a post about how I don’t have resolutions and that I don’t believe in making statements like ‘I wont eat rubbish anymore’ or ‘I will be organised’ but I can see that I am already gearing myself up for a new start.

I tidied up my fabric cupboard two days ago and was shocked at how much I had so much so I’m going to be giving some fabric bundles away on Button Patch  .  I have also bagged up unwanted clothes to take to a charity shop,  tidied up toys and cleared away some of the Christmas decorations. It just seems the best thing to do. To get busy.

I hope to get busy with this blog too in 2013.  I am aiming to do the following:

  • write a blog posts a week
  • write a regular monthly children’s book review
  • include more family recipes
  • more hints and tips on how I amuse 3 children under 6 years old.

Not the most lengthy list but I heard someone say the other day that their plan was to do little, well. So instead of doing lots of things in an average way I would like to do these 4 things the best I can.

With my family and for myself I have only one true aim for 2013.

BE KIND.

That’s it. Be kind to my family, friends and to myself.

Happy New Year to you all.  I look forward to sharing 2013 with you.

Hello Clare! And Happy New Year. Read your blog for the first time after seeing mention of it on FB! Best idea for a resolution, no exceptions!
If only everyone would make it instead of all the silly pointless ones! I never have bothered with a resolution but that is one that I will try to keep!

Hi Kate, Happy New Year to you and a big thank you for taking the time to comment. Kindness, doing less but doing it well. I feel the difference between this and the usual must exercise stuff that I have sometimes fallen into saying is that it is positive. I’m not beating myself up about something I’m not instead I’m working towards a positive frame of mind and attitude towards how I handle life. Enjoy 2013. Clare x
