With the sizzling heat of July (I can’t quite believe I am writing that) we tried to cool down with this recipe for watermelon and strawberry lemonade. Refreshing and delicious.  Choosing to serve it in half of the watermelon was probably the children’s favourite bit.

Watermelon and strawberry lemonade

Watermelon and Strawberry Lemonade
  1. 1/2 watermelon cubed and deseeded
  2. 1 punnet of strawberries, halved
  3. Caster Sugar (to taste)
  4. 150ml of lemonade
  1. Place the watermelon and strawberries in a blender and blitz them all up until mushy. If you have the patience you could drain the mixture through a sieve. Then add the lemonade and caster sugar to taste ( sugar really isn't that necessary if you have lovely ripe strawberries).
  2. Serve in the carved out half of a watermelon or in pretty glasses with a straw.
